Millennial Fair Re-Created in VALVe's Source Engine

Hi, everyone! I'm sorry to say I'm not a regular member, but I'd like to share with all the Chrono fans a project I've been hard at work on and publicly released today. I'm a modder and an aspiring game-designer, experienced working with VALVe's Source Engine. Back in 2010, starmen.net held their first "Chrono Trigger FanFest" and I kicked out the early build of the map in under 2 weeks to submit for their fanart contests. These recent months, I've picked up the project again. I'm finally content to release it to the fans of this wonderful series. Its most easily played on Garry's Mod. If you own GMod, please give it a try, and if you don't... well this could be a great way to spend that $10 burning a hole in your pocket! I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. : D

Massive Chrono Trigger game design textbook/resource project
Hello Chrono Compendium!
Some colleagues and I are working on a project to completely reverse-engineer all the game design decisions that went into Chrono Trigger. We recently did the same thing for Final Fantasy 6. That resulted in over 30,000 words and more than twenty graphs and figures worth of analysis. You can see it here: http://thegamedesignforum.com/features/reverse_design_ff6_1.html. There are eight pages to the reverse design in all.
In any case, we'd really like to do the same thing for Chrono Trigger--to create a complete and authoritative design analysis covering every aspect of the game. The previous project, however, took hundreds of combined hours from multiple people, some software upgrades, and a bunch of other stuff, so we decided to launch a Kickstarter to fund the project. The goal is actually quite small ($500), and we're about 30% of the way there with 3 weeks to go, but every little bit helps.
If you think your site and community could use this kind of resource, we'd love the help for the Kickstarter. You can read more about it to http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/144457690/reverse-design-chrono-trigger. Also, let us know if you have any questions about either project. You can post here or shoot a question to submissions@thegamedesignforum.com
*false alarm* Square Enix registers "Chrono Bind" domain

Chrono Trigger Unglued - Episode 23: "Let's Get Enertroned!" is Here!
After a year of waiting (really sorry about that, I'll explain that further down) Chrono Trigger Unglued: Episode 23 is finally here! Watch as Crono and Company discover that maybe going south wasn't the most productive of directions to travel through the raging dust storm in their quest for batteries to put in Lucca's Gate Key. They do - however - have their first encounter with the much lauded Enertron, there's just some minor issues of comfort that have to be overlooked when the device is used. Afterwards, Crono finally acquires some much needed Ether... sweet-sweet Ether!
As for why this episode took so long, my old laptop became virtually completely unusable near the beginning of this year when I found myself charged and wanting to get production on this episode done. Later when I did finally get a new laptop in March, I realized that if I didn't crank-up the writing on my book I would never get it published in time for my mom - who has cancer - to be able to see it before she died. I am glad to say I was able to get it done while she was still alive (she doesn't look so good right now, she probably won't be here much longer). After that, various other forms of delays kept stalling production such that it took 2 whole months to get the episode done after I finally began working on it.
I beg your apologies, I have sacked those responsible (including myself).
Those you who are interested in reading my 100% original book "The Vagrant's Tale" (which is heavily revised from the first draft I showed long ago, and now has 2 bonus chapters never before seen online) you can find it - in dead tree format - for sale here: http://www.amazon.com/Vagrants-Tale-Clovis-Dye-Jr/dp/1463735359/
Anyways, now that Episode 23 is out, a casting call for Dubbed Episode 3 will probably begin soon.
"Fuck SOPA" - ZeaLitY
Chrono Compedium WILL be shut down if the Online Piracy Act (a.k.a. the SOPA) is passed. As well as every other popular fan site and all fan related content on YouTube (gameplay videos) and fan content on other social media sites (Facebook).
Here's a visual explanation of SOPA:

See, doesn't that just SUCK? Square-Enix dislikes fan projects as it is by the fan projects they've canceled. Imagine if they had the power to shut down fan sites too? They will not hesitate to use this power! So I highly recommend posting it in the news to inform people about it and encourage them to sign the petitions to stop it.
